Promoting Shanxi–Hong Kong industrial collaboration and supporting enterprises in expanding overseas
Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and Shanxi branch of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade of the Shanxi Provincial Committee (CCPIT Shanxi) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 29 to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas including industry, enterprises, technology and trade, with the aim of fostering the shared economic prosperity of Shanxi and Hong Kong. The signing ceremony was held during the 2026 Shanxi (Hong Kong) International Trade and Investment Matching Conference. The MoU was signed by Jackie Ng, Deputy Chairman of FHKI, and Jiao Yufeng, Party Secretary of CCPIT Shanxi Provincial Committee.
FHKI Chairman Anthony Lam expressed his encouragement over the signing. He remarked, “As our Country embarks on the new phase of the 15th Five-Year Plan, efforts to advance high-standard opening up, technological self-reliance and high-quality development are gaining momentum. FHKI looks forward to strengthening collaboration with CCPIT Shanxi by combining Shanxi’s industrial strengths with Hong Kong’s international advantages. In this regard, we aim to inject new impetus into the economies of both places while contributing to the overall development of the Nation.”
According to the MoU, both parties will undertake joint exchange and cooperation initiatives to facilitate connections between enterprises intending to establish a presence in Hong Kong and local industries. The two organisations will also engage in consultation regarding relevant resources, experience and information to promote synergistic development.
Jackie Ng, FHKI Deputy Chairman, stated, “Amid a new wave of high-standard opening up, cooperation between Shanxi and Hong Kong is entering a ‘golden period of opportunity’. FHKI has established the ‘Global Connect’, mobilising its extensive membership network and professional resources, with the aim of serving as a first stop for Shanxi enterprises going global. We are committed to supporting Shanxi enterprises in expanding into overseas markets, while advancing industrial collaboration between the two places and promoting high-quality development.”
