FHKI Signed MoU with Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association
Enhancing support for enterprises to establish in Hong Kong and Deepening Guangzhou–Hong Kong economic and trade cooperation
Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 16 to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas including economy, commerce, trade, resource management and development, and sustainable growth, with the aim of fostering the shared economic prosperity of Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The MoU was signed by Wallace Wong, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman and the Chairman of FHKI’s Pearl River Delta Council; and Dr Liu Yung Chau, President of Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association. An MoU exchange ceremony was held alongside four other major chambers of commerce during the Inauguration Ceremony of the First General Committee of the Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association.
FHKI Chairman Anthony Lam attended the Founding Ceremony to extend his warmest congratulations. He remarked, “As our Country embarks on the new phase of the 15th Five-Year Plan, economic and trade cooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong is set to reach a new milestone. By forging this partnership with the Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association, FHKI looks forward to more effectively leveraging Hong Kong’s unique advantages under the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ framework. Together, we will capitalise on the policy dividends brought by the 15th Five-Year Plan and guide enterprises in seizing emerging development opportunities, thereby contributing to the cultivation of the Nation's new quality productive forces."
According to the Mou, both parties will undertake joint exchange and cooperation initiatives to assist enterprises intending to establish a presence in Hong Kong by connecting them with local industries. The two organisations will also engage in consultation regarding the necessary resources, experience, and information to achieve synergy.
Wallace Wong, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman and PRD Council Chairman, stated, "Guangzhou and Hong Kong share close geographical and cultural ties, with highly complementary industries. Through this partnership with Hong Kong Guangzhou Industrial and Commercial Association, FHKI seeks to leverage Hong Kong’s unique advantages in R&D commercialisation, professional services, and financing, integrating them with Guangzhou’s solid industrial foundation. We are committed not only to supporting outstanding enterprises in establishing a presence in Hong Kong, but also to jointly strengthening the industrial chains of both cities, enabling enterprises seize opportunities in the global market."
