In August 2026, FHKI submitted its position paper on The First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026 - 2030) (Hong Kong's Five-Year Plan) to the HKSAR Government, proposing that Hong Kong should make new industrialisation a new growth engine and position itself as an innovation-driven industrial and international value-chain platform. FHKI also put forward recommendations across six key areas:

2. New Industrialisation and I&T
3. International Trade Centre
4. Commodities Market
5. Integrated Development of Technology, Education and Talents
6. Sustainable Development
