"BOCHK Corporate Low-Carbon Environmental Leadership Awards 2024 Prize Presentation cum 2025 Launching Ceremony" was successfully held on 19 August 2025 at HKCEC, with over 500 guests in attendance. This significant event was honoured by the presence of Kenneth Cheng, Deputy Director of Environmental Protection (Waste Reduction), who, along with FHKI leadership and BOCHK Deputy Chief Executive Wang Huabin, presented the 2024 awards and kicked off the 2025 Awards.

The "BOCHK Corporate Low-Carbon Environmental Leadership Awards" is an initiative organised by FHKI and fully supported by BOCHK. The awards aim to drive eco-friendly initiatives across the manufacturing, services, and property management sectors in Hong Kong and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region.

The 2024 Awards witnessed unprecedented participation from over 960 enterprises, including 406 first-time entrants. The ceremony saw the distribution of 21 prestigious awards. In addition to the existing Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for Manufacturing, Services, and Property Management, new Gold, Silver, and Bronze SME Awards have been introduced for SMEs in these three sectors, respectively, to encourage their active participation in environmental protection. Other awards include the “Belt and Road Environmental Leadership Recognition Award”, “Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area Environmental Leadership Recognition Award”, and “Outstanding Sustainability Corporate Award 10+”

In addition to the awards presentation, it is honoured to invite Richard Lin, Founder and Director of Groen Denken as the moderator of the sharing session with FIVE representatives of enterprise whose won the gold award, including the Gold Awardee in the Manufacturing Sector – Mr Don Cheng of the Chief Operating Officer – HK Business from The Hong Kong and China Gas Company; Gold Awardee in the Services Sector – Mr Horace Lo of the Group Managing Director from the Modern Terminals Limited; Gold Awardee in the Property Management Sector –– Mr Wai Kuen Chan of the Chief Property Manager from the H Properties Management (HK) Company Limited – Infinitus Plaza; SME Gold Awardee in the Manufacturing Sector – Ir Dixon Kwok of the Founder from the York Joint Design & Construction Co. Ltd, and SME Gold Awardee in the Services Sector – Ms Ophelia Lin of the Managing Director from the Meiriki Japan Company Limited. They shared a series of succinct and practical tips to help businesses, particularly SMEs, integrate sustainable development principles into their operations.

Highlights of BOCHK Corporate Low-Carbon Environmental Leadership Awards 2024：

🌱 Over 960 participating enterprises

🌱 406 first-time entrants

🌱 Completed over 2,300 green projects

• Saving over 500 million kWh of electricity consumption, equivalent to over 150,000 Hong Kong households’ annual consumption
• Reduced water usage by over 11 million cubic meters, comparable to that of more than 4,400 Olympic-sized swimming pools
• Achieved a reduction in waste disposal by over 3.32 million tonnes, which is the weight of nearly 612,000 African elephants
• Recycled more than 240,000 tonnes of materials, equivalent to the net weight of 16,400 double-decker buses
• Reduced air emissions by 2,000,000 tonnes, equivalent to the annual CO2 absorbed by 168 million trees

Registration for the Awards 2025 is now open and will continue until 31 October 2025! The first 40 SME enterprises to register for the "EcoChallenger" will be granted a full subsidy of HK$4,500 for the assessment fee.
