FHKI YEC successfully organised the Mission to Vietnam Hanoi from 2 June to 5 June 2026, attracting 16 participants who came together to explore business opportunities in Hanoi, Vietnam. Through a series of high-level business visits and exchange activities, members gained a comprehensive understanding of Vietnam’s industrial landscape and investment environment. The delegation was led by YEC Chairman Ms Serena Cheng and Vice Chairman Mr Nicholas Lai, with Honorary President Mr Kriston Sun and Chairman of the ASEAN Council Mr Ken Lam also joining as representatives.
During the four-day itinerary, the delegation conducted an in-depth exploration of Vietnam’s economic core and key enterprises. On the first day, members visited Finforce Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Carl Zeiss Vietnam Co Ltd., gaining insights into local manufacturing development, the application of advanced technologies, and production processes, while exchanging views with company representatives on operational experience and market trends.
The delegation then travelled to Hai Phong, where they visited the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA) to learn about the development planning, policy support, and investment advantages of the economic zones, and held in-depth discussions with government officials. Members also visited several major Hong Kong-funded and multinational enterprises, including EVA Precision Industrial Holdings Limited, Regina Miracle International (Vietnam) Co Ltd., VSIP Hai Phong Co Ltd, and GFT Group. These visits provided a comprehensive understanding of the significant growth potential of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector, industrial ecosystem, and investment environment, while also facilitating discussions on supply chain development and industrial upgrading opportunities.
Throughout the trip, the YEC held multiple networking dinners and exchange sessions with local chambers of commerce and enterprises, including meetings with representatives from the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam (HKBAV) and Sumitomo Corporation. These engagements helped strengthen the connection between Hong Kong and Vietnam industries and foster cross-border collaboration opportunities.
This study mission provided a multi-dimensional and comprehensive understanding of the Vietnam market, covering areas such as industrial park development, human resources, manufacturing upgrading, and investment policies. Through site visits and direct exchanges, participants gained deeper insights into Vietnam’s potential as an emerging manufacturing hub and identified new avenues for cooperation and business development.
