FHKI Garments, Textiles and related Industry Groups successfully organised a mission to Hangzhou and Ningbo from 22 to 26 June 2026. The delegation was led by Mr Wallace Wong, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Group 29 (Sustainable Animal Fibers Council), and Ms Jackie Ng, FHKI Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Group 3 (Dyeing and finishing). Mr Kenneth Wong and Mr Kelvin Wong, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Group 13 (Multi-Textiles and Fashion Accessories Council); and Ms Estella Kwan, Vice Chairman of Group 3 (Dyeing and finishing) also joined the mission to foster industry exchange and collaboration among participants.
The first stop of the mission was Hangzhou, where delegates visited the China National Apparel Technology & Innovation Institute to gain insights into the innovative applications of AI technologies in apparel design, manufacturing and marketing. The group also exchanged views with various enterprises and visited several leading companies. Through these visits, delegates observed cutting-edge innovations such as AI-powered sewing equipment, intelligent production lines, waterless printing technologies and smart hanging systems, gaining a deeper understanding of the textile and apparel industry's digital transformation and smart manufacturing trends.
The delegation then travelled to Ningbo, where members visited several leading companies. These visits provided valuable insights into the development of 5G smart factories, AI-powered 3D design, premium cashmere manufacturing technologies and fashion innovation platforms, enabling participants to better understand the direction of industry upgrading and innovation within the textile sector.
Throughout the mission, delegates actively engaged in networking sessions and dinners, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences. These interactions further strengthened industry connections and injected fresh momentum into future collaboration and development.
