The FHKI held the 59th Annual General Meeting cum Luncheon at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, with Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Mr Edward Yau as the Guest-of-Honour. Over 600 guests, including governement officials and business leaders, attended the luncheon.
At the luncheon, the outgoing FHKI Chairman Mr Jimmy Kwok expressed his gratitude to the HKSAR Government, academia and research institutes etc. for their continuous support to FHKI in his two-year term. The newly elected FHKI Chairman Dr Daniel Yip shared his vision of rejuvenating Hong Kong industries through three measures: first, to explore new business opportunities through cross-sector business matching; second, to connect and facilitate mutually beneficial collaboration between industrialists and startups for commercialising new concepts; third, to actively enhance the industry image, support young industrialists and entrepreneurs as well as encourage the industries to help promote vocational education for attracting new talents.
FHKI also held the award presentation of Membership-drive Campaign 2018-19 at the luncheon and Mr Kwok presented the awards to the campaign winners as a token of appreciation.
